Corel Painter The More Artistic Choice In Photo Editing Software

Corel also has something called Corel Painter. This a must-have if you are more of the artistic type with great graphic design capabilities. Version 10 brings home support to Intel-based Macs, as well as Windows Vista support and more improvements to speed, stability, and performance. There are a few fun and new toold that come into the fray as they make their entrance into the Corel program, including a new category of brush variants, called RealBristle, which gives the artist fine control over brush behavior to realistically duplicate real-world paint brushes.

Going back to the pros and cons of this software now, the pros are quite rewarding if you can put up with some of the cons. Firstly as a con, you must be ready for the new software. It will be very tough to pick up for users who are not familiar with graphic softwares (so this is not for your average beginner). The user interface may seem a bit crowded and outdated to most. Lastly as a con, some interface elements seem quite awkward (ie. some of the smaller dialog boxes do not have an auto preview).

However there are quite a few pros to back up the cons! Corel Painter has a vast variety of natural media tools to realistically simulate some of the more traditional media. Every version keeps up with speed, stability and compatibility. When purchased, it comes on a single disc (which now adays IS rare). Corel Painter also comes with a 300+ page user manual, so any major problems and you have an index'd life saver in your grasp.
