Printer Inks The Choice Between Dyes And Pigment Inks
As far as printer inks go, it depends on your printer, some are laser while others are dye and so on. Inks are important to photographers, since if the colors are off base, it can affect the quality and precision of the print.
Most printers come with four cartridges; however, there are the elite printers, which have a big one-cartridge or else six ink cartridges. The six cartridge printers are said to be one of the elite printers offered. Instead of receiving black, magenta, yellow, and cyan, you also get a lighter version of cyan and magenta ink.
The choice of dye versus pigment ink has become increasingly unavoidable for anyone who may be shopping for a new printer. Traditional dye-based printers use water-soluble colored liquids to render an image on paper. Tiny droplets are laid down that get absorbed by the paper. On the other hand you have pigment ink, which is composed of a neutral carrier liquid with suspended colored particles. Whereas dyes are generally made up of organic compounds and deteriorate rapidly when exposed to UV light and other environmental factors, the colored particles used in pigment inks are inert and will take much longer to decompose or fade to any significant degree.
